Franchisee of the Month
Having joined Dream Doors at the end of 2006, Trevor, and his wife Anne, opened their showroom in Nottingham’s West Bridgford area in January 2007 and sold a staggering £513,000 of kitchen facelifts in their first year of trading. They have already sold over £60,000 in January this year and are now planning their second showroom after bringing both of their sons into the business.
Alex Waite, franchise recruitment manager, comments on their success: ‘Trevor and Anne epitomise the people that we want to represent our brand across the country. They work exceptionally hard, listen to our advice, are self-motivated and understand the importance of customer service. The fact they won third prize in the Dream Doors Franchisee of the Year awards at our annual conference – in only their first year – is testament to their abilities.’
Trevor worked most of his life in the bearings and transmission business. Between 1984 and 1995 he even ran his own firm before selling it in a management buyout. This led to several years in charge of a fitness centre, before he returned to the bearings business as an employee.
At 52 years old, Trevor wanted to find a business he could operate locally, that would give him the opportunity to work with his wife, and utilise his skills in dealing with people. ‘The Dream Doors formula of replacing old kitchen doors with bespoke new ones, for a fraction of the cost and with much less hassle than a complete re-fit, was something that I’d have done in my own home. On top of that, it had a USP that I could justifiably sell.’
Trevor adds: ‘The support we have received from Dream Doors has been fantastic, with great training and field managers on hand to help – and they really know their stuff. The initial training at Head Office is superb and complimented by excellent on site training to put everything into practice.’
