Remote working project launched

A new scheme has been launched to help small businesses manage employees who work from home. The Remote Manager's Toolkit, created by BT Business, provides practical advice about managing remote workers. The project was created after research indicated that nine out of ten managers had no formal training in dealing with home workers or with the associated IT skills, despite almost three-quarters of small firms operating some form of home working. BT Business says that more needs to be done to support home workers and is urging businesses to learn and adapt from what it calls the 'MySpace Generation', which is comfortable with virtual interactions.
