Push it to the max

It's not uncommon to work long hours and more than a five-day week in the business world. However, Bronwen Preece, who is partially sighted, runs a charity shop six days a week, raising funds for local hospitals and often staying until 9pm. What's more, Bronwen is 84 years old. For her outstanding achievements, RE/MAX Wales sponsored and presented her with the Charity Award at the Local Hero Awards ceremony in May.

Rob Lock, regional director of RE/MAX Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside who presented the award together with Lord Mayor, Councillor Mair Gibbs, said: 'As a community-based business, we feel it's important to give something back locally, so it is fitting to be involved in celebrating the efforts of people that have gone the extra mile to make a difference - an ethos we at RE/MAX firmly believe in.'
