Eating out is in

The 2009 Eating Out in the UK report, sponsored by McDonald’s, claimed that food franchises are on the up and expected to rise further in the future.

There will be a ‘recession legacy’, suggesting that only businesses that can meet new consumer demands for quality, value and a great experience, without paying a premium, will prosper in the future. Most industry leaders predict growth returning within 12 to 18 months. There has also been a major shift towards healthier eating, quality food and a demand for better service and value.


The results also revealed that the high street as we know it, will look very different in the future and will become more of a leisure destination with eating out establishments taking over empty retail units.
