Recognition Express launches two new franchises for free

Recognition Express and the Community Action Network (CAN) have teamed up to offer the first initiative of its kind in the UK - a free franchise worth £30,000 to an individual from a socially disadvantaged background in London's East End.

Originally intended for one winner, both Recognition Express and CAN believed so strongly in two candidates, Pui Kei Chan from Bethnal Green and Julakha Miah from East London, they offered a franchise to each - an investment of £60,000 funded by Recognition Express, and supported by NatWest bank.

Pui will trade from premises on the South Bank while Julakha, and her husband Shawkoth Rahman, will start to work from home but will move to a business unit in East London.

Nigel Toplis, managing director of Recognition Express said: 'Pui and Julakha demonstrated an ability throughout their work experience to build a rapport with customers and vendors - a key factor in B2B success. Amassing the funds to start their own business was not achievable, despite their dreams and aspirations. However, by applying to the Recognition Express incentive and putting themselves forward for the opportunity to win a franchise of their own, they showed self-motivation, creativity, forward thinking and the willingness to work hard - all fundamental attributes when it comes to running a successful franchise.'
