No+Vello has once again shown its support for women in franchising by sponsoring an EWIF (Encouraging Women in Franchising) award at the annual awards ceremony in London on 13th May 2015.
With over 1,300 franchisees worldwide, over 80% of whom are female, No+Vello is proud to be associated with EWIF and to support the annual awards.
Matthew Simmonds, No+Vello's UK Managing Director, comments: "We welcome the support EWIF provides to franchising in general and in particular by encouraging women to get more involved. With these awards, they recognise and celebrate the work of women in the UK franchising industry. The winners and nominees represent all that is good in franchising and reinforce the approach of our network which is to nurture and closely support franchisees to enable them to grow their businesses."
The keynote speaker at the awards ceremony, Rachel Elnaugh, an entrepreneur and founder of Red Letter Days, spoke of the values and attributes that women bring to business and highlighted the more nurturing and supportive approach that women have. This is the essence of franchising, providing an encouraging environment to empower business owners to grow their business based on the proven model and systems of the parent company.
No+Vello sponsored the Young Woman in Franchising Award and were impressed with the attitude and nurturing spirit the three finalists demonstrated. They were Vicki Mitman of Leathes Prior solicitors, Heather Ratcliffe of Swimtime and Claire Robertson of Stevens & Bolton solicitors.
Vicki Mitman was this year's worthy winner for her work not only supporting her franchise clients but also developing the EWIF East region. All three finalists can be proud of their contribution to franchising over the last 12 months.
EWIF is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers and its primary focus is to support women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry. The organisation provides advice and guidance to anyone looking at trying to break into franchising as well as encouraging business women to franchise their existing operations.
