The British Franchise Association launches campaign to encourage more women to consider franchising
TaxAssist Accountants is proud to support the bfa's #womeninfranchising campaign running throughout November. When it comes to women in business, franchising has long been ahead of the curve. Some 30 per cent of the UK's 40,000 franchisee businesses are owned and run by women, according to the bfa/NatWest Franchise survey. That's higher than the rate of female SME ownership across the UK – 18 per cent, according to the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
At TaxAssist Accountants 21 per cent of franchisees are female. The majority run their franchise individually, although we also have many married couples, mother and son, father and daughter franchisees and a brother and sister team.
