Driver Hire adds two new franchisees in Yorkshire

Driver Hire, a transport and logistics recruitment franchise, has two new franchisees in Yorkshire.
New owners Helen and Stuart Ward have moved from Bristol to Barnsley to run their new business. Driver Hire has 103 offices across the UK.

“We looked at a number of options, some of which were much closer to home,” says Stuart. “However, we felt that Driver Hire and Barnsley had a lot to offer, both in terms of business potential and value for money in the local housing market.”

In addition, Driver Hire’s office in York has changed hands and is now under control of Carrie Ann Donohue. Having worked for Drive Hire for the past 10 years, Carrie Ann already has knowledge of the business. She worked for the previous franchisee, David Poole, who retired after 15 years at the helm and will now be joined in her venture by business partner, Dianna Bamforth.

Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s franchise sales director, says: “Our overall business success is resulting in high levels of both enquiries and sales.
“On current trading, the average full-year turnover for a Driver Hire franchisee is over £1million. (UK franchise industry average is £356,000 per unit). So we have a brilliant product to sell.”
