Christmas demand drives Driver Hire to new record

In the run-up to Christmas, demand for drivers has enabled Driver Hire, a transport and logistics recruitment franchise, to set a new trading record. During the week ending 13 December, turnover soared to £2.35million, the highest in its 30-year history.
 
This year has seen Driver Hire franchisees’ seven per cent ahead, compared with the same time last year. Fifteen of its franchised offices have already passed the £1million turnover mark with two franchises – Aberdeen and Enfield – hitting the £2million barrier.
 
Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s chief executive officer, commented: “The continued increase in online shopping is just one factor in our record-breaking run, as customers seek additional staff to meet the Christmas delivery deadline. But that’s only part of the story. 

“Our franchisee’s reputation for quality and compliance continues to put us ahead of the rest, as transport operators and businesses of all types want to work with a recruitment partner they know they can rely on.”
