Hereford welcomes Papa John's

Leading pizza franchise, Papa John’s, has now opened in Hereford. The company which now has well over 300 outlets throughout the UK is continuing to expand rapidly. The latest franchised store on Commercial Road, Hereford, will now supply Papa John’s pizza, renowned for its quality and fresh ingredients to residents in and around the cathedral city.
“Hereford has over 53K residents so is a ‘hot’ location for our latest franchised Papa John’s!” confirms Anthony Round, business development manager, Papa John’s. “As well as many families being located in the region, the town has several higher education establishments so students will also be able to sample our top quality pizza, delivered to their door.”
The Papa John’s concept of ‘Better Ingredients, Better Pizza’ has proved popular since set up. The first restaurant was set up in 1985 in the USA by John Schnatter’s who’s story is an inspiration to anyone in business. At high school, he worked as a dishwasher in a pub in Jefferson, Indiana, later selling his prized car to fund used restaurant equipment to make and sell his own pizza from a converted broom cupboard in his father’s tavern. The customers loved the pizza so much that John was able to expand by moving into adjoining space in 1984, eventually leading to the opening of the first Papa John's restaurant the following year.
Jitesh Patel, franchisee for Hereford runs 18 Papa John’s in the UK. He said: “John Schnatter was certainly an inspiration to me. I joined Papa John’s 12 years ago and have built-up my portfolio of stores as the Company’s popularity has grown. I am delighted now to be able to bring Papa John’s superior quality pizza to Hereford for local residents to enjoy. There is a huge market for quality pizza and people simply want the best. Our new team, made up of 15 local recruits, is now ready to deliver!”
Today, the Papa John’s franchise operates around the world with more than 4,800 stores in 40 international markets and territories. Papa John’s is currently recruiting new franchisees across the UK. Papa John’s provides all the necessary training, help with location selection and full turnkey solution to opening the store. Papa John’s is also currently offering a franchisee incentive scheme to help with set up, which includes deals on equipment, marketing and discounted fees.
Papa John’s, was recently named as the UK National Pizza Delivery Chain for the sixth time.
