Did you know two million older people have spent a week without seeing anyone? One of Britain’s biggest care franchise companies Bluebird Care has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness of the positive role its care assistants have in beating loneliness.
Called Every Visit Counts, the campaign is backed
Bluebird Care COO Duncan Berry said: “We are growing at such a pace that it is imperative we continue to get the best front line staff to meet demand. But we wanted to think beyond the obvious methods of recruiting such as buying adverts and reaching out through our own channels. This campaign shows how much we appreciate our front line staff as well as showing that we are really thinking about our customers.”
To go with the launch of the campaign, this week, polling of 1,000 people over the age of 65 shows some 1.3 million older people spend the equivalent of two months a year without seeing anyone.
