Margot James is appointed small business minister

The newly formed Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has announced Margot James MP has been appointed new minister for small business, taking over from Anna Soubry, who left following the appointment of Teresa May as Prime Minister.

Margot has been an MP for Stourbridge since 2010, and before that co-founded clinical trial and PR consultancy organisation Shire Health Group in 1986 and went on to sell the business almost 20-years later to WPP in 2004. Since entering parliament, she sat on the business, innovation and skills select committee between 2010 and 2012.

Margot said: “I am delighted to be joining the ministerial team and will do all I can to support businesses and employees in my new role.”
