Dream Doors, the UK’s largest kitchen-makeover retailer, has launched its new showroom in Dunstable, South Bedfordshire.
Owned by husband and wife Mark and Anne Stephen, the couple was accompanied at the launch by business development manager Darren Chadwick, managing director Troy Tappenden, and the mayor of Dunstable, Peter Hollick.
Mark, a former technology programme director for large companies, decided to set up a kitchen business after having his own kitchen refitted a few years prior.
He says: “Our new kitchen made a huge difference to our quality of life – our kitchen became the heart of our home. And we knew that if it worked for us, there’d be loads of homeowners in similar situations.
"I didn’t have any experience in kitchens before joining Dream Doors, but the business ticked several boxes for me; it had to be a service and product that I would buy.
“What we offer is very tangible: we aim to give all our clients the same feeling we had when we supply and fit their dream kitchen.”
Mark and Anne were impressed with Dream Doors’ track record and they felt the franchise was the perfect fit with what they were looking for.
Mark adds: “With Dream Doors, our customers have the best of both worlds – the backing of a proven national service but delivered by local people.
“The local aspect of this business is very important to us. Our customers have access to a small team of experts who know the area, as well as time-served tradesmen who pay personal attention to delivering the best service possible.”
Dream Doors replaces anything from kitchen doors to worktops, as well as full new kitchens. This has proven to be a very popular service as it saves money, hassle and time compared with a full refit.
The mayor of Dunstable, Peter Hollick, cut the ribbon at the ceremony, saying: “It’s great to see this level of investment in Dunstable and to see local fitters and tradesmen providing this fantastic makeover service to local customers. I wish Mark and Anne all the best in this venture.”
Dream Doors now has over 70 showrooms and has completed over 50,000 kitchen makeovers since its establishment in 1999.
The company will be on stand N120 at The British Franchise Exhibition at Manchester’s EventCity on 16 and 17 June.
