An associate member of the bfa since launching as a franchise 10 years ago, the company has since grown into a network of more than 50 franchisees across the UK.
As part of the bfa's evaluation process, Colourfence's franchisees were surveyed, and the positive responses, especially in regards to the products and head office support, ensured the company achieved the upgrade on its first attempt.
Colourfence's founder and managing director, Mark Stewart-Woods, says: "It's great to have the bfa's top seal of approval, and it's testament to how far Colourfence has come in the last few years.
"When we first moved into franchising, we engaged with the bfa and affiliated partners to ensure our opportunity matched the association's own strict code of ethics. Since then, we've truly become a national brand and it's only fitting that we upgrade our membership to recognise that."
Finance Director Iain Colling worked closely with the bfa to ensure all documentation was available for scrutiny.
He says: "This wasn't a simple box-ticking exercise, and rightly so. The bfa wanted to verify that our marketing materials, business plan projections and franchise agreement met its own exacting standards. It is no surprise to us that they all passed muster, though, as we have always adhered to the bfa's code of practice.
"That same moral code of practice permeates throughout Colourfence. We built our company on transparency and ethical trading, and our franchise recruitment, training and support is no different. Clearly, the bfa recognises that, too, which must be reassuring to any potential new Colourfence franchisees.
Colourfence will be on stand F30 at The National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham, on 13 and 14 October.
