Santa paid an early visit to the recruitment team at Driver Hire’s Croydon office this year. As a result they’re already looking forward to their summer holidays. And with very good reason. Croydon franchisee Tony Goacher and his five colleagues have won £7,500 of holiday vouchers, as winners of Driver Hire’s ‘Best of the Best’ sales incentive.
Held across three ‘National Sales Days’ in February, June and September, the ‘Best of the Best’ competition is designed to help franchisees drive sales over three ten-week periods.
National winners at each of the three stages were Driver Hire franchises in Chelmsford, Croydon and Liverpool who each collected a £2,500 prize package. After all three stages were completed, the overall winner was Driver Hire Croydon.
And, as far as driving sales for individual franchises, ‘Best of the Best’ certainly did the trick, with 3,250 appointments made across the network, adding over 2,500 new customers. As a result, Driver Hire could be heading for another record trading year – its fifth in succession.
Commenting on Croydon’s success, Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director said: “National Sales Days are another example of the comprehensive support package we offer to help franchisees develop their business and maximise its potential. The average turnover of a Driver Hire franchised office is £1.1m, which is three times the industry average of £378,400. We’ve run similarly successful sales incentives for the past three years. They’re popular with franchisees, help motivate staff and, as the figures show, give a real boost to their business.”
One of the UK’s largest specialist suppliers with a nationwide network of franchised offices, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
It is also one of the UK’s longest-standing franchised businesses. It sold its first franchise 30 years ago. Over the intervening years its network has grown to over 100 offices nationwide, 92 of which are franchised. It is highly respected within the industry and has been a bfa ‘Franchisor of the Year’ finalist in eleven out of the last twelve years.
