Home Care Assistance becomes official caregiving partner of Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement

Published: 18 May 2018

With a mission to change the way the world ages, Home Care Assistance has developed and supported initiatives to give back to the greater good. For the past three years, it has partnered with the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, a not-for-profit organisation founded by Maria Shriver, to build awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and provide support for caregivers.

Building on the partnership, Home Care Assistance officially became the official caregiving partner of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement earlier this year. In support of the organisation’s community of family caregivers, Home Care Assistance is sponsoring caregiver recharge grants, which are awarded quarterly to family caregivers to enjoy two consecutive days of respite care.

At Home Care Assistance, community service, social and environmental responsibility and sponsorship of noble not-for-profit causes occurs at local and international levels.

Barbara Schuh, vice-president of franchise operations, says: “Serving the community is a huge part of our culture. When evaluating the performance of our franchise owners, one metric we look at closely is philanthropic involvement and recognise our owners who are making a difference in their communities.”

Home Care Assistance has over 165 locations across the US, Canada and Australia, and each office has continuously demonstrated a commitment and willingness to give back to the community as it aligns with the company’s mission.
