Warrens Bakery opens first store in Wiltshire

Warrens Bakery has opened a new store in Melksham, making it the brand’s first location in Wiltshire.
The new bakery, which officially opened on 14 November, is located on the town’s high street and has created five jobs for local residents. Opening in partnership with North Devon couple Julie and Trevor Kerby, the takeaway bakery will showcase Warrens’ artisan range of breads, pasties, sandwiches, sweet and savoury treats, speciality Cornish delicacies and on-the-go snacks.
Julie and Trevor, who trade under Acorn Holdings, used a six-figure finance package from HSBC UK to help them to set up their first Warrens Bakery franchise. The funding has been used to refurbish the premises, which has been fitted out with the equipment needed to run the new bakery. The couple will also draw on support from HSBC as they look to extend their number of franchises in the coming months, with another two sites set to open in Trowbridge and Devizes.
Established in 1860, Warrens Bakery is the oldest bakery in Cornwall and recognised as the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world. It was recently named the winner of the Craft Bakery Business Award at the National Baking Industry Awards.
With the rise in popularity of craft baking, Warrens Bakery puts a firm focus on provenance, handcrafted skill and innovation.

We therefore thought what could be better than a Warrens Bakery in Melksham. They are a perfect fit! We are excited to bring a slice of Cornish tradition to the heart of Wiltshire and open the very first Warrens Bakery in the county.”

The Melksham opening is part of Warrens Bakery’s wider plans to open more stores nationally, Since opening its first franchised store in 2017, the brand has experienced rapid growth and plans to open hundreds of new stores in the next five years.
