FORMER salesman Ross Gamble moved nearly 5,000 miles to open a Dream Doors kitchen showroom.
37-year-old Ross had been working in corporate sales in Dubai for several years when he decided he wanted to move back to the UK.
He began researching franchise business opportunities and soon came across the Dream Doors model.
He said: “It appealed to the creative side of me - being able to go into someone’s house and change the most important room into what they want it to be.
“Financially it also seemed like a very good opportunity.
“I looked online and Dream Doors caught my eye above all the other franchises.
“The others seemed to be fairly run-of-the-mill, one-man-band type operations while Dream Doors gave me the opportunity to start a business and grow a team.”
After completing Dream Doors’ award-winning training programme, Ross opened a showroom in West Edinburgh and has not looked back.
He said: “The technical side of things, how to measure up and install a kitchen, was completely new to me but you do have a network of talented people you can call on – your Business Development Managers and other people in the network – to help you get to grips with that side of things.
“Between those two groups and your common sense you can get through most challenges.
“I signed up to Dream Doors because it seemed like a unique concept.
“There are lots of kitchen companies but not very many specialise in refacing kitchens.
“There are a handful of competitors, but none have the national network backing that you get with Dream Doors.
“The earning potential was one of the most important things for me though.
“Why would you do it if you didn’t get the benefit financially?
“This is a very profitable business.”
Dream Doors is looking for more talented franchisees like Ross who are ready to generate huge profits by representing an industry-leading brand.
Come and meet the Dream Doors recruitment team at The British and International Franchise Exhibition on February 1st and 2nd at Olympia London.
The recruitment team will also be at The National Franchise Exhibition on February 15th and 16th at the NEC in Birmingham.
There are just 19 new franchise territories available nationwide, particularly in the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Scotland.
