The bfa reveals the 2019 Franchise Awards finalists

Published: 22 March 2019

The British Franchise Association (bfa) has announced the franchisor and franchisee finalists of the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards 2019.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at the Vox, Birmingham, on 27 June.

The franchisor finalists are:

  • Franchisor of the Year: Minster Cleaning Services; Window to the Womb; Oscar Pet Foods; Speedy Freight; InXpress; Driver Hire
  • Emerging Franchisor: Award Leisure; Access4Lofts; Radfield Home Care
  • Brand Awareness & Innovation: Oscar Pet Foods; The Christmas Decorators; énergie Fitness; O2
  • Leadership & Culture: Home Instead Senior Care; McDonald’s Restaurants; Right at Home
  • Social Enterprise: Swimtime UK; Wiltshire Farm Foods; The Creation Station

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, says: “Congratulations to all those nominated. This year was particularly tough, as so many franchise brands presented excellent cases for being put forward, so for those that have been shortlisted, they really have gone above and beyond in helping their network.”

As reported in the 2018 bfa NatWest Franchise Survey, there are more young people than ever becoming franchisees. For this reason, the bfa has decided to split the category of Young Franchisee of the Year into two separate awards, one for young female franchisees and one for young male franchisees.

The franchisee finalists are:

  • Young Female Franchisee of the Year: Jennie Mills – Rainbow International; Charlotte Eames – The Creation Station; Victoria Rigby – Home Instead
  • Young Male Franchisee of the Year: Steve Mullins – ActionCOACH; Craig Bishop – Snap-on Tools; Daryl Perkins – Card Connection
  • Customer Engagement: Sarah Reeves – Bright & Beautiful; Berkeley Harris – Sandler Training; Kev and Amy Popat – Right at Home

The overall winners of Franchisee of the Year will also be revealed on the evening.
