Leading recruitment franchise, Driver Hire, welcomed two new franchisees to its nationwide network during February: Scott MacGregor and Stephen Hobbs.
Scott has purchased Driver Hire’s Leeds East business. Before opting to buy his Driver Hire franchise, Scott worked largely in sales, as both a team leader and coach. Most recently he was part of a direct sales team at a locally based B2B telecoms services supplier, Abzorb.
“Starting a new business is daunting,” says Scott. “But with a Driver Hire franchise, I’m buying into a well-respected, proven business model. In addition, because Leeds East is an established territory I already have a customer base to build on. Being part of a franchise network means there’s always full back-up and support for me.”
Meanwhile, in Suffolk, Stephen Hobbs has invested in Driver Hire’s Bury St Edmunds & Ipswich franchise. Stephen, who’s an FCCA qualified accountant, has a diverse and interesting CV, including a desk job in the Armed Services and running a gastro pub. He’d held a variety of finance director roles in the private and public sector before, most recently, working as a contractor for numerous NHS organisations as an interim finance consultant.
“Having done the research I realised that a well-established franchise was the right choice for me,” says Stephen. “Driver Hire was the winner because of its longevity, heritage, quality support and geographic location. I’m proud to be one of their franchisees. The previous owner, George Griffiths, developed a great business covering this area. I’m looking forward to working with local businesses to continue his success.”
Welcoming Scott and Stephen to Driver Hire’s nationwide network, Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director said: “Their mix of financial, sales, commercial and customer facing experience is a perfect combination for running a Driver Hire franchise. We wish them well.”
