Anytime Fitness expands presence in Ireland with new-look gym

Published: 23 August 2019

Anytime Fitness has expanded its presence in the Republic of Ireland with the opening of a new gym in Clondalkin, a suburb of Dublin.

The Clondalkin gym is Anytime Fitness’s third club in the Republic of Ireland and the first to incorporate the new club design, which the franchise unveiled earlier this year.

It’s the third Anytime Fitness club opened by franchisee Gar Holohan, who is part of the impressive statistic that over 60 per cent of Anytime Fitness franchisees go on to open additional clubs after their first.

Anytime Fitness Clondalkin’s new club design has facilitated the creation of various training zones in response to the soaring popularity of functional training, which incorporates exercise that allows individuals to perform daily activities more easily and reduces risk of injury.

The new club has created various employment opportunities and offers users state-of-the-art facilities, premium equipment and a packed class timetable.

Gar says: “I’m thrilled to have launched such an innovative and engaging fitness concept in Clondalkin. No other club in the area offers facilities of this quality and we continue to look forward to welcoming new members.

“We have exciting plans to engage the wider community, and our memberships offer value-added benefits to the people of Clondalkin and afar.

“The success of the two other clubs that we own in the Republic of Ireland shows the potential and profitability of running an Anytime Fitness franchise and I’m already planning two further club openings after this one.”

Stuart Broster, CEO at Anytime Fitness UK, adds: “We’re delighted to confirm Anytime Fitness Clondalkin’s opening and the opportunity to grow our business in Ireland. The new club design is a significant part of our future and we hope that people in Ireland will be looking forward to experiencing it.

“Even in times of economic uncertainty, the fitness industry continues to prosper and it’s great to see Gar enjoying a healthy return on investment from his other sites and choosing to open additional clubs with us.

“As with all our clubs, community is at the heart of the proposition and we look forward to seeing the social value that is generated within Clondalkin’s surrounding communities.”

Anytime Fitness Clondalkin follows Anytime Fitness Croxley Park, in Watford, as the second Anytime Fitness club to incorporate the latest design. This was followed by Anytime Fitness Malvern, Worcestershire, which has been rebranded from an independent gym to incorporate the new club design.

Anytime Fitness currently has more than 165 clubs open in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and is set to reach 180 by the end of 2019.
