Driver Hire franchisees celebrate 10 years

Published: 03 October 2019

It’s been a busy year for franchise renewals in the Driver Hire network with some big anniversaries worth celebrating.

In 2019, six franchisees have celebrated their 10th anniversary, with two more celebrating 20 years, and all have chosen to renew their franchise agreements for a further five years.

Celebrating 10 years, Dave Pollard, the owner of the Brighton franchise, says: "Renewal is a great opportunity to review your business. As with the purchase process, Driver Hire’s group services support team were both thorough and helpful. As a result, I’m looking forward to developing my franchise further over the next five years."

For both Darran Perkins (Cardiff) and Nic Chaviaris (Gatwick), their Driver Hire connections go back further than 10 years. They both worked for the previous owners of their franchises before making the decision to invest when the opportunity came along.

"I can’t believe how much my business has grown," says Nic

"I’ve never had any doubts that I made the right decision. I work with a great team and the business fits in with my family commitments. Most importantly, we continue to be a highly successful operation."

Darran agrees: "When it’s your own business, you benefit directly from the effort that you put in. We’re a 24/7 operation, so success is about following the well-establishedfranchise model combined with a strong work ethic. I continue to make a good living from my franchise – that’s why I chose to renew."

Robert Leek and Ian Leadbeater, franchise owners of Driver Hire Sheffield, completed the renewal of their franchise agreement in August.

Since taking over the business in 2009, they’ve grown annual turnover to in excess of £1million and have received numerous accolades for business achievements.

"Driver Hire is a great business to be involved with," says Robert.

"There’s not a day we don’t enjoy going into work. The job satisfaction we get from knowing we are helping people find employment is second to none."

Ian adds: "We renewed for another five years because of the potential for further growth. Driver Hire recently won the bfa HSBC award for Franchisor of the Year; this is a great accolade for us.

"The recent investment in the network with a new database system, a new website, ongoing Driver CPC training and Driver Hire’s licence checking service only reinforced the easy decision it was to renew our agreement."

This year has also seen 12 new franchisees join the business with the purchase of 10 franchises made up of both startup and resale territories.

Franchising for over 30 years, Driver Hire recruitment offices mainly provide temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector.
