Just Cuts network capitalises on seasonal business booms

Published: 29 November 2019

The seasons changing often inspire a shift in outlook and a desire to make a positive change.

Amber Manning, UK CEO of hair salon franchise Just Cuts, has witnessed more than a few franchisees benefitting from launching their franchise during the changes in season.

“We’ve found that a key time for prospects to first enquire about our opportunity is just after the kids go back to school, as parents have a bit of breathing space and time to weigh up their options. But that doesn’t necessarily mean everyone is getting in touch after half term, the Easter break, or in the new year.

“The great thing about our opportunity is that we make the initial agreement and training process as simple as possible for our franchisees, meaning it appeals to people from all walks of life, from season to season – no matter how busy people are.

“With that being said, franchisees looking to launch a premises-based franchise – so in a retail unit or office space – will often find the entire process more seamless during late autumn to early winter. This is especially true for retail-based franchises, as property teams are keen to fill those empty store units in shopping centres and on city streets before the inevitable Christmas rush.

“We also find that our opportunity becomes particularly popular in the run up to the spring/summer rush, as clients are looking to reinvigorate their hair styles and prospects are looking to capitalise on this consistent demand. The proof is in the numbers – the British hair and beauty industry is worth a staggering £4.1billion.”

One of the main advantages of starting a franchise for working parents is the flexibility of the model, meaning the back-to-school season provides great opportunities to get a franchise off the ground. Parents can manage operations of their franchise around childcare and other family considerations.

Magda Deaconescu, franchise owner of two Just Cuts salons and a mother of two, found career satisfaction after launching her business.

“Before I found Just Cuts, I was a stay-at-home mum for the girls. When they had got to school age, I realised I had to do something for myself. It was always my dream to have my own salon, so I started looking for something to fulfil that.

I discovered Just Cuts, met with the franchise recruitment manager, and I instantly fell in love with the brand. The whole philosophy of the business was perfect; they’re extremely family-orientated.”

No matter which season you decide to invest in a franchise, it’s always the right time to invest in your future.
