Aspray’s franchise network of professional property damage claims managers and loss assessing specialists is celebrating the success of director, Andrea Loasby, who is shortlisted for three awards in the Women in Insurance Awards 2020.
Andrea, who has been a director at Aspray since 2014, is shortlisted in the categories of Claims Professional of the Year, Marketer of the Year and Unsung Hero, in awards that generated 700 nominations in total.
The nominations come at a time when Aspray has some of the most successful franchisees that its network has ever had the privilege to include, proving that loss assessing and property damage claims management is very much a suitable career for a woman. Andrea hopes to leverage her success to date in The Women in Insurance Awards, to help inspire other women to consider becoming a property claims franchisee and to join the thriving Aspray Franchise network.
The Women in Insurance Awards recognise the contribution women make to the insurance sector and the achievements of women operating in all parts of the industry. They provide recognition for women who go above and beyond and for those who inspire and initiate change. This could easily describe women within Aspray’s franchise network, who use their soft skills and tenacity, to strive to help insured property owners – both domestic and commercial – gain a successful resolution to a property damage scenario.
Women within the network can be called out to visit properties and premises that have suffered damage for a wide variety of reasons, including a water leak or flood, a weather incident, a vehicle collision, a fire, maliciousness on the part of a tenant or third party, or a host of other things. Within Aspray Franchise, women need to be adaptable, determined and prepared for whatever they are faced with on arrival at the damaged property.
These same qualities have propelled Andrea into the second round of judging at the Woman in Insurance Awards, but, as she explains: “Whilst I am delighted to be nominated for three awards in the Women in Insurance Awards 2020, I hope that this will enable me to raise awareness of the role that other women play within our loss assessing network, so we can attract even more brilliant minds and individuals.
"Women typically have some natural abilities and soft skills that are an important part of being a loss assessor. I hope I can use the awards success to attract more women who also wish to follow a rewarding career, own their own business in conjunction with a brand and a franchisor that has earned both trust and respect, and work in the property world.”
Andrea may need to wait until November 10 to hear whether or not she is a winner, with an event at the Royal Lancaster, London, scheduled for the day – if it can go ahead.
