Support for franchisees has always been fundamental to the success of Minster Cleaning. With 36 years’ experience in the cleaning industry including 32 years in franchising, Head of Operations Ian Hadley has an in-depth understanding of the operational issues that can arise in a large network such as Minster Cleaning’s.

Ian ensures consistency of best practice across the network and compliance with current legislation, such as rises in the National Living Wage and environmental legislation.

As well as providing help for franchisees in areas such as health and safety, employment-related matters, risk assessments, operational training and product and service advice, Ian is involved in progressing leads for suitable national and regional contracts. Ian also manages the ISO and SafeContractor accreditations for Minster Cleaning’s Network Support Centre.

Healthcare is an important market for Minster Cleaning thanks to its expertise in providing specialist cleaning services to the sector. Minster Cleaning’s healthcare cleaning plans and audit processes align with the current NHS national standards of healthcare cleanliness guidelines and Care Quality Commission requirements.

Minster Cleaning is an Accredited Training Centre with the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), and Ian is a licensed assessor. This allows Minster Cleaning to offer accredited training to all branch staff. Minster Cleaning also partners with Citation Professional Solutions to provide training and support in areas such as infection control, employment law and health & safety.

Minster Cleaning offers a safe and secure future whether franchisees buy an established business or a new territory. Help is available with the transition from employment to self-employment (if needed), and support covers all key business functions including operations and training, marketing, IT and finance.

The annual turnover of the franchise is now in excess of £50million and, with a reputation for integrity and professionalism, it is one of the UK’s most successful commercial cleaning franchises. The top branches are achieving sales of more than £2million per year, with many turning over in excess of £1million.  

Franchisees in the Minster Cleaning network come from a wide range of professions, but all have people-management abilities, commercial awareness and determination in common, essential attributes for a management franchise where some branches employ well over 200 people.
